Over the past two years, Israel has crossed every red line with impunity. Israel’s now openly stated and accepted goal is to wipe out the Palestinian people, their culture and their history, and to take all the land from the Mediterranean Sea to the Jordan River and beyond. This does not prevent its unconditional supporters from continuing to seek to stifle the freedom of expression of those who defend the law.
Yet the law has never been stated so clearly
- Israel must cease its crimes : end the ongoing genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing in Palestine, leave the Palestinian territory it illegally occupies and dismantle the settlements, and States have an obligation to take measures to compel it to do so.
- The Palestinian people have the right to self-determination, an inalienable and unconditional right that includes the right of return for refugees.
The year 2026 must be the year when our governments work to uphold international law rather than silencing Palestinian voices and those who support them.
The year 2026 must be the year when the international community stops being complicit in Israel’s crimes and puts an end to its impunity, which requires sanctions.
The year 2026 must be the year of choosing between barbarism and humanity, between the law of the strongest and the rule of law.
The AFPS made its choice long ago: justice, dignity and freedom for the Palestinian people, an end to genocide and ethnic cleansing, an end to occupation, colonisation and apartheid, equal rights for all between the Mediterranean and the Jordan River. This is the path to self-determination for the Palestinian people. We will tirelessly play our part in this struggle, alongside the Palestinian people, with our partners in France, Europe and around the world.
